Celebrating Learning and Strengthening our School’s Future
Join Us for the World of Learning
We warmly invite all parents and carers to our World of Learning event on Tuesday 8 April. This is a wonderful opportunity to step into your child's classroom and see firsthand the progress they have made so far this year. With great pride, students will share their learning achievements with you, reflecting on their hard work and successes.
We deeply value the chance to connect with families and share how the new school year has begun. Programs will be coming home with students tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you there!
Acknowledging Our School Improvement Leaders
A special thank you to our assistant principals and our instructional coaches in literacy and numeracy and our safeguard and wellbeing leads, who have been working diligently on our School Improvement Plan. This plan will shape the work we do as a school over the next year, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, wellbeing, and attendance - four key areas we aim to strengthen and grow.
Over the years, we have seen improvements in literacy, numeracy and wellbeing data, and our commitment remains the same: to maintain these successes while striving for even greater achievement. As the year progresses, we will share more about the school improvement plan, including our school wide expectations and how it will shape learning in classrooms and beyond.
Looking forward to seeing you all at our school soon.
Kind regards
Ms Arendt
Principal

The Family Friendly Recipes project from the Student Parliament

The Student Parliament is adding a column to the newsletter of our favourite recipes. These recipes are easy to cook and cost effective. There will be a meal option or a sweet treat. This week we have a meal option that comes highly recommended and from the RecipeTinEats recipe collection some, recipes will be from traditional family recipes.
The recipes are tried and true and will be released at the end of the year and available for people to buy as a fundraiser and a piece of 2025.
Chicken Shawarma (Middle Eastern) - RecipeTin Eats
Coming soon in the next newsletter are some sweet treats including carrot cake cupcakes!
Happy Cooking and Enjoy!

Collecting your child early
If you need to collect your child from the front office during the day, we ask you contact the front office ahead of time so that your child is available and waiting for you at the front office.
If you require your child to be collected during the fortnightly Assembly times (2:05pm-2:40pm), we recommend you plan for your child to be collected by 2:00pm to limit disruptions to the Assembly.
Thank you.

Harmony Week 2025
Harmony Week at Rosetta Primary School included discussions, book sharing and projects, research, adding a touch of orange to school uniforms, and drawing and painting ideas.
Harmony Week has focused on inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone. It has been a time to reflect on the importance of respecting each other and our differences.
The Australian Government identifies Australia’s success as a multicultural nation by our values, our mutual understanding of our rights and responsibilities as citizens and national language and our respect for each other. Our shared Australian values of respect, equality and freedom go beyond our different cultures and are what makes Australia such a great place to live.
The message of respect and belonging can be lived by each of us, every day, not just during Harmony Week.
During Harmony Week and every other day at Rosetta Primary School we work towards inclusiveness and promoting the
message of ‘everyone belongs'.
Thank you to everyone who supported Harmony Week in 2025.

Harmony Week in 3B
The Grade 3B class read and shared the book I’m Australian Too for Harmony Week.
Students worked on why this is an important book for Aussie kids to read. These are some of the student responses:
This book is telling us to be respect people coming to Australia, and to be kind to them no matter where they’re from or what they look like. We can all be friends no matter what culture and no matter who you are we can all be friends. People come to Australia so they can be safe and not be hurt.
Evie
Because it tells us to respect others – no matter where they are from you have to make people feel welcome.
Chris
The book tells us that wherever you are, whoever you are, you are welcome to Australia. The book also tells you people lose their houses in war and need a new home.

Grade 3-4 Update
In Grade 3-4A, students have dived into the essential math concept of place value, which helps them understand how numbers are structured and how each digit in a number has a specific value depending on its place. By building a strong foundation in place value, students gain a deeper understanding of addition, subtraction, and more complex operations. Students have been involved in numerous place value games including small group and whole class, Mathletics and Prodigy as well as applying their knowledge of place value to problem solving.
Students have also explored symbols and emblems in HASS, investigating Australian flags and how emblems have been used to convey meaning.

Launching into Learning excursion
On Wednesday 9 April our Launching into Learning group will be visiting The Chigwell Community Garden in Karambi Street, Chigwell.
We will meet there ready for a 9.15am start. Transport to the venue is not being provided for this excursion.
Children will learn about what grows in a vegetable garden and we will all go on a “Veggie Hunt”. Children will also see compost worms in action and learn about their importance in the garden. To finish the session children will make a garden inspired craft item to take home.
The program will run for one hour. After this we invite families back to Rosetta Primary for a picnic in the Kinder courtyard.
Please RSVP for this excursion by Tuesday 8 April.
We look forward to seeing you there. Don’t forget to wear your gumboots!

ThinkUKnow
Recently we hosted a ThinkUKnow information afternoon. This was a great opportunity for people attending to hear about the importance of children and young people receiving education directly from influencers in their lives, including parents, carers, teachers, and police.
The discussion included the encouragement of critical thinking and learnings to prevent harm, to identify safe or unsafe situations and know when and how to seek help.
Our in-school presentation was delivered by Melanie from the Australian Federal Police with a focus on building positive engagement between children, young people, and police, while equipping students with the knowledge and skills to be able to take actionable steps to maintain their safety at all times.
Please see the attached sheets for further details: Where to get help and support and How and what to report.
Anyone interested in further information should contact Mrs Lenthall or Mr Johnstone.
