From the Principal
Hello Families,
It’s been a vibrant and eventful fortnight at Rosetta, filled with exciting activities and rich learning experiences. Highlights include the interschool swimming carnival, a productive RPSA meeting, energetic Hurricanes Cricket sessions, the ongoing SASS program for our Year 5–6 students, and a wonderful whole-school Assembly where Prep A proudly shared their learning about kunanyi.
After many years of dedicated service to Rosetta Primary School, we farewell Alannah Allie as she takes long service leave and then retires from her role as a valued teacher aide. Alannah has made a lasting impact, particularly through her work in the Kindergarten, where her gentle presence, patience, and care have supported countless children in their early learning journey. Her commitment to nurturing young learners and her contribution to our school community will be deeply missed. We thank Alannah for everything she has given to Rosetta and wish her all the very best in this next chapter.
Rosetta Primary School Association
At last Thursday night’s RPSA meeting, we discussed opportunities for community engagement and developed our 2026 plan for activities and fundraising. There was a real buzz in the room as we explored ways to strengthen the Rosetta Primary community through family events, including working bees, barbecues, and celebrations.
A big thank you to all the members who attended the meeting — we’d love to see even more of you join our meetings next year!
Learners Lounge
This term Rosetta Primary will launch our ‘Learners Lounge’—a special time for selected students from Kinder to Year 6 to share a piece of work which reflects something they have learnt at school. This might be a piece of writing, a problem-solving activity, a work of art or a poem. Students will present their learning during an afternoon tea in the staffroom with myself and another staff member.
Our first Learners Lounge will take place Monday 10 November at 2:15pm. To make the occasion even more special, I would like to invite one or two community members to join us. If you’re interested and available, please let our wonderful office staff know, and they will add your name to the list.
Every school day matters.
We love seeing your children at school, every day. Going to school every day gives your child every chance to learn, grow and connect with their friends and teachers. It gives our staff and students a chance to engage with your child.
We all play a part in helping our kids get to school every day. Please know that if you’re struggling to get your kids to school, help and support is available. Talk to us at school or visit Anything can happen - Department for Education, Children and Young People.
Working Together for Respectful and Supportive School Communities
At Rosetta, we believe every school should be a place where students, staff, and families feel safe, respected, and valued. Creating this kind of environment takes all of us, parents, carers, and school staff, working together with shared purpose and respectful communication.
We understand that life can be busy and sometimes challenging, and it’s natural to feel frustrated at times. But when we pause and choose to communicate thoughtfully, especially during moments of concern, we help build a stronger, more connected school community.
If you ever need to raise an issue with a teacher or staff member, we encourage you to approach the conversation with care. Respectful dialogue leads to better understanding and better outcomes for our children.
Have a wonderful week

E Team
The members of the E team would like to say a big thankyou to Mr Griff Abery who has once again donated several punnets of vegetable seedlings for our gardens.
We have planted tomatoes, sweet corn, cauliflower and zucchini.
Next meeting we will be planting cabbage, cucumber and spinach.
We must also thank Mrs Abery who has offered to water our garden over the holidays. We are very grateful to you both.
On 20 November a group of E team students will be working with Glenorchy City Council members, Danny Pulbrook, (parent) and Glenorchy Landcare representative, to perform some maintenance tasks in the area we have recently planted.
Students will be working between 10 and 11 o clock and will be accompanied by Mrs Devereux and Mr Clarke.

School Association
Hello, I am Ben Naismith, dad to Jim and Eliza, both students at RPS. I have the pleasure of being chairperson for the Rosetta Primary School Association.
We recently had our Term 4 meeting and have a lot of exciting plans to share.
This term, we will be holding a working bee on the 4th of December, from 3pm-6pm, to get the kinder playground ready for the installation of swings over the Christmas break. We will also take the opportunity to give the bathtub composts a good going over as well. If you would like to be involved, please reach out to either myself or the school office for more info.
The next 12 months are shaping up to be action-packed with activities and opportunities for greater engagement with the school and the broader community. If you would like to be involved in the school association and have your voice heard, then please don't hesitate to reach out to me, any other committee members, or the office for more information. Meeting dates for 2026 will be published in the next newsletter.
I'd like to take the opportunity to thank outgoing chairperson David Sheppard for all of his fantastic work that we will continue and strive to build a thriving school community where all voices are heard and valued.
