Principal's Report
A Retirement
Today, I would like to celebrate and honour a truly remarkable educator, and colleague Mrs Jones, as she retires after an extraordinary 22 years of service at Rosetta Primary School and 44 years in education.
Mrs Jones has been more than just a teacher during her time here. She has been a mentor to staff and students and a lifelong learner. Her dedication to the students, staff, and the community of Rosetta PS has been exceptional, leaving an indelible mark on all of us.
Mrs Jones’ care for her students has been nothing short of extraordinary. She has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child in her care reaches their highest potential. Her thorough and thoughtful planning is tailored to the needs of each individual student, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to learn and grow to their fullest potential. She listens patiently to her students, offering them a safe and supportive space to express themselves. Whether they need guidance, encouragement, or simply someone to listen, Mrs Jones has always been there ready with wisdom, compassion, or simply a kind ear. Her dedication to their well-being, both academically and emotionally, has made her classroom a place where students feel valued and supported.
Mrs Jones’s passion for education and her commitment to creating opportunities for every student to succeed have been unwavering. She has also embodied the spirit of collaboration and teamwork.
Mrs Jones, your legacy at Rosetta Primary School is one of care, excellence, and generosity. You have inspired students to continually learn.
On behalf of the entire Rosetta Primary community, thank you, Mrs Jones, for your exceptional service, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment. We wish you all the very best for a well-deserved and joyful retirement.
A Welcome Addition to A Family
Next year will see Ms Scotney taking a year’s leave as she welcomes a special little someone to her family.
I would like to thank Ms Scotney for all of the wonderful work she does in leading the learning of her students and wish her all the very best for her time on leave. We will then look forward to her return to Rosetta PS in 2026.
2024 Grade 6's
I would like to extend my heartfelt best wishes to the 2024 Grade 6 students as they embark on their future journeys. What an incredible group of young individuals they have become! A big thank you to our dedicated Grade 6 teaching team for their unwavering commitment to the students. Their hard work and passion were evident in organizing the Leavers Dinner and today’s assembly, which was truly a memorable occasion. Thank you all for making this year so special!
Congratulations to Our Past Rosetta Students
Mrs Lenthall and I attended the Montrose Bay High Grade 9 and 10 Awards Assembly, and it was with great pleasure that we saw a number of our past students win the highest accolades from their high school.
We would also like to congratulate them on their outstanding achievements.
Best wishes for the upcoming break and all the very best for the new year. We look forward to seeing you all early February.
Kind regards
Mrs Arendt

Persuasive writing
All of our students learn the art of persuasive text writing. Stand-outs this term have been the Grade 2 writers, particularly Arabella. She has certainly represented her thinking in a very persuasive way. Enjoy!

Vocabulary or EPIC Arabella
I think learning vocabulary words is better than EPIC.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because you can digest words and information.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because you can learn mysterious words.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because you are learning something extraordinary.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because you can look at calligraphy books, megastar books and perplexing books.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because you get to write magnificent sentences.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because you get to write inspiring and incredible work.
Vocabulary words are better than EPIC because it gives you courage to show off your work.
In today’s persuasive writing vocabulary words are better than EPIC.
