Principal's Report
Hello to families and students at Rosetta Primary School,
Over the last couple of days, a group of Grade 6 student representatives have been working with University of Tasmania Researchers to evaluate the Tasmanian Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy. The focus has been on ethically engaging students in matters that concern them through the delivery of short-term learning programs that draw on student’s experiences and interests to improve their awareness of how evidence can be used in decision making.
Mr Johnstone arranged this wellbeing and student voice program, and we thank him for creating the opportunity.
This week sees us with a Show Day Public Holiday on Thursday 24 October and a Student Free Day on Friday 25 October while staff undertake professional learning opportunities.
This Wednesday 23 October we are privileged to have a Silent Disco available for LiL/Pre-Kinder-Grade 2 students from 4:30-5:30pm. and then for Grade 3 to 6 students from 6:00-7:30pm. This event has been arranged by the School Association and we thank them for their work in preparing for this great way to celebrate the eve of a Public Holiday. You can see more details in this newsletter.

E team
Our bush tucker garden, the Kipli garden is almost complete and the students are taking great care watering the new plants.
We will be officially opening the garden in November.
Our fun fact this week is:
Watering new plants deeply twice a week for the first month and then once weekly should give them the great start they need.

Kindergarten and LiL
The Kindergarten and LiL are working with the Department of Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) to create videos for use in an online training course. A videographer will be visiting our school over the next few weeks to capture videos and images to use in the teacher training package.
The filming will involve the Kinder and LiL exploring language through songs and rhyme, such as Row, Row, Row your Boat and Polly Put the Kettle On. Songs and rhymes have been introduced to support parents/carers to learn and sing the songs at school and in the home.
