Principal’s Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is wonderful to be able to welcome you all back to Rosetta Primary for a year of learning.
Already classes are highly focused on a variety of topics. We have also commenced singing groups for primary grades, yoga groups for middle primary years and leadership programs for our Grade 5 /6 captains and vice captains.
Today, you will receive a letter from your class teacher which will outline class expectations, specialist timetables, and the learning planned for the year. As always you are welcome to make a time to talk with your child’s teacher if you have questions to ask or information to share. Or you may like to communicate via the See Saw App which is used schoolwide or Facebook . There are a variety of ways we offer for communication because we aim to support communication with our community in as many ways as possible.
Just one thing to note; we do have a couple of consecutive weeks of assembly presentations this term, this is to accommodate the holidays which happen towards the end of term and to ensure that we give all classes a time to present over the year. If your child is receiving a certificate, we will let you know prior to the assembly via SMS and you may like to attend.
Kind regards
Deirdre

Good attendance habits can sometimes be hard to stick. But creating a solid routine, from the start of Term 1, can set your child up for success for the year ahead.
If you’re looking for tips on how to create better attendance habits, visit the Anything can happen website.
Please always talk to us if you’re having trouble getting your child to school. We’re here to help.

Grade 3-4 and Grade 4 Movies
We would like to inform our parents that occasionally, our Grade 3-4 and 4 class may view PG-rated (videos, shows and movies) to enhance the student's learning experience and provide a more comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Educational resources used to support knowledge and understanding, such as ClickView, do contain the occasional PG rated clip. The selection of these media items will be made with consideration for the age and maturity level of our students. If you have any concerns or would prefer your child to not watch the PG media could you please let us know?

Maths Problem Solving Competition
Welcome back to the family problem solving competition for 2024. At Rosetta we have a schoolwide approach to use during problem solving activities. This approach is called CUBES. This strategy enables students to identify key information and eliminate all irrelevant words.
The Numeracy Coaches will run a problem-solving competition in each newsletter. Once the activities have been completed return your entry to the office and a lucky winner will receive a prize and certificate in assembly. Don’t forget to add your name, class, and show us all of the steps you have taken to solve the problem.
